CHARDONNAY - Friuli Grave Doc

Production zone: alluvial plain in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, west zone of
Friuli Grave Doc appellation, municipality of Porcia, locality Rondover.
Grape Variety: 100% Chardonnay.
Vineyards: spur cordon training system, 4.000 plants per hectare, yield 100 qlHa.
Harvest period: I week of September.
Vinification: crushing, destemming and gentle pressing, white
fermentation in stainless steel tanks thermo-controlled (18-20°C), aging
in stainless steel vats in contact with the fine lees, bottling done in spring.
Alcohol content: 12,5% by vol.
Aging potential: to be drunk immediately or to be kept for 1-2 years.
Colour: pale straw-yellow colour.
Nose: intense but delicate, rich and fruity, it suggests tropical fruits
and in particular pineapple and has a slight smell of golden apple, pear,
white peach with notes of acacia honey.
Palate: fine and discrete flavour with reminiscent of bread crust. The
acidity emphasizes the freshness. Clean and persistent aftertaste with
mineral nuances.
Food pairing: ideal with fish starters, rice dishes and egg dishes. Excellent
with soups and risotto with squid and fresh tagliolini with truffle.
Serving temperature: ideal at 8-10°C.
