MERLOT - Friuli Grave Doc

Production zone: alluvial plain in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, west zone of
Friuli Grave Doc appellation, municipality of Porcia, locality Rondover.
Grape variety: 100% Merlot.
Vineyards: spur cordon training system, 4.000 vines per hectare, yield
110 ql/Ha.
Harvest period: IV week of September.
Vinification: crushing and destemming, followed by approximately
10 days maceration in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature
(26-28°C); after racking, aging in stainless steel vats and bottling done
after seven months of harvest.
Alcohol content: 12,5% by vol.
Aging potential: to be drunk immediately or to be kept up to 1-2 years.
Colour: intense ruby red.
Nose: delicate, vinous, fruity and flowery, it suggests raspberry with notes
of blackcurrant, rich of scents with notes of herbs and violete.
Palate: dry, soft, harmonious, dry, at the palate it prevails the youthfulness
of tannin and the freshness of the fruit. The acid vein makes it substantial
aromatic persistence.
Food pairing: it exalts the poultry, grilled red meats and cheeses.
Excellent with pasta and beans, chicken liver risotto, grilled tuna.
Serving temperature: ideal at 18-20°C.
